The most important safety measure, though, is social distancing; James Cherry, M.D., a distinguished research professor and infectious disease expert at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA says, “The virus is in these droplets, and they don’t go very far — they fall to the ground. So that’s why [staying] 6 feet away from others is the most important thing that we can all do.”
